Refrigerator not cooling
Some LG models use a linear compressor, and compressor complaints on certain LG refrigerators have been widely reported. But fans, defrost parts and dirty condenser coils are more common causes, so we test the compressor and sealed system properly before recommending anything expensive.
Ice maker not making ice or icing up
A frozen fill tube, a failing water inlet valve, the ice-maker module or the ice-compartment fan. Er IF on the display points to the ice fan.
Refrigerator codes Er FF / Er dH / Er CO
Er FF is the freezer fan, Er dH a defrost heater or circuit problem, and Er CO a communication fault between the display and main board — often a wiring or connector issue in the door hinge.
Washer OE / IE / UE / LE / dE
Drain, fill, unbalanced load, motor-lock and door codes. OE is usually a clogged drain-pump filter; LE can be a motor, rotor-position sensor or overloaded drum. See our LG washer error code guide.
Front-load mildew, odor and leaks
The door gasket, drain filter and dispenser drawer need regular cleaning — more so in Florida humidity. Torn gaskets and clogged drain filters cause most front-load leaks.
Dryer not heating or flow sense warning
Heating element, thermistor or thermal fuse on electric models; igniter or gas valve coils on gas models. LG's Flow Sense indicator means the vent is restricted — fix the vent or the part will fail again.
Range and oven issues

What does OE mean on my LG washer?

OE is a drain error — usually a clogged drain-pump filter (behind the small door at the bottom front) or a kinked drain hose. If cleaning the filter doesn't clear it, the drain pump may have failed. Our LG error code guide walks through it.
Is my LG refrigerator compressor bad?

Not necessarily. A warm fridge with a running compressor is more often a fan, defrost or condenser-airflow problem. We measure temperatures and test the compressor before making that call — and if it is the compressor, we'll tell you honestly whether repair makes sense.
Is an LG refrigerator worth repairing?

Fans, ice makers, valves, sensors, defrost parts and boards are almost always worth fixing. Sealed-system work on an older or lower-priced unit is a closer call; we'll give you both numbers so you can decide.
Why does my LG front-load washer smell?

Trapped water and residue in the door gasket and drain filter. Leave the door open between loads, use the tub-clean cycle and clean the drain filter. If the gasket is torn or moldy deep in the folds, it can be replaced.
