Appliance Repair in Clearwater Beach, FL

  • ✓ $79 diagnostic, credited to the repair
  • ✓ 45-day parts & labor warranty
  • ✓ Same-day & next-day visits
  • ✓ 6+ years repair experience

Mako is based on Island Estates, the closest appliance repair technician to Clearwater Beach. Most beach calls are a five-minute drive, which is why same-day service here is the rule, not the exception.

Beach appliances live a harder life than anywhere else in Pinellas. Salt air, sand, humidity, short-term rental turnover and the 2024 storm surge all show up in the repairs we do on the island — and we plan every visit around condo rules, parking and building access so you don't have to.

Helene was a different kind of storm out here. The National Weather Service recorded a peak water level of 6.67 feet above normal high tide at the Clearwater Beach gauge on the night of September 26, 2024 — far past the old 4.02-foot record set by the 1993 Storm of the Century. Garages, lobbies, laundry rooms and ground-floor kitchens took on Gulf water, and a lot of appliances on the island were either replaced in a rush or are still running after a soaking. Both deserve a careful look.

The technician who books your visit is the one who shows up. You'll get a $79 diagnostic that's credited to the repair, a flat written price before any work starts, and a 45-day parts and labor warranty on what we fix. We aren't factory-authorized for any brand, so if your appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty we'll tell you to call them first.

Getting to you: About 5 minutes across the Memorial Causeway bridge from our Island Estates base.

What we see in Clearwater Beach

  • Salt-air corrosion

Gulf air corrodes condenser coils, igniters, control-board contacts and stainless panels within a few blocks of the water. We see refrigerators on Mandalay Avenue and Gulfview Boulevard with coils rusted through years early. Coil cleaning and corrosion checks are part of every beach refrigerator visit.

  • Condo and high-rise logistics

Most beach towers require a vendor certificate of insurance before a technician gets past the lobby, plus elevator reservations and set work hours. Send us your management company's requirements when you book and we'll have the certificate there before we arrive.

  • Stacked and compact laundry

Beach condos rely on stacked and compact washer-dryers in closets and long shared dryer vents that clog quickly in humid air. A dryer that's 'not heating' here is very often a vent problem.

  • Vacation-rental turnovers

A broken fridge, ice maker or washer between guests costs a five-star review. Hosts and property managers can book a turnover-window visit, give us lockbox access, and get a photo report and invoice the same day.

  • Storm and flood damage

Hurricane Helene's surge in September 2024 put seawater into ground-floor units and garages across the beach. Any appliance that sat in salt water needs inspecting before it's used again — corroded wiring is a fire and shock risk. We'll tell you honestly what's safe to repair and document it for insurance.

  • Snowbird homes sitting empty

Seasonal homes can sit closed for months. Ice makers, water lines and washers that sit unused fail on the first use back. Book a check-up before you return, or while you're away and we'll send photos.

  • Rushed post-storm installs

After Helene, plenty of beach units got replacement appliances installed in a hurry by whoever was available. Kinked fridge water lines, washers that were never leveled, ranges without anti-tip brackets and dryer ducts crushed behind the machine are worth checking even when the appliance itself is new.

  • Parking on the island

Clearwater runs pay-by-plate kiosks and the ParkMobile app across the beach, and in city garages the plate has to face out for the cameras. We sort out our own parking and meter time — if your building has a service space or loading zone, mention it and the visit goes faster.

  • Sand Key towers

Across the Clearwater Pass bridge on Sand Key, the Gulf-front condo complexes have the same insurance paperwork, elevator bookings and long dryer exhaust runs as the main beach. We cover them on the same schedule, usually ten minutes from our base.

Clearwater Beach appliance repair FAQ

How fast can you get to Clearwater Beach?

+

Our base is on Island Estates, about five minutes from the beach. Most Clearwater Beach calls booked before early afternoon are seen the same day.

My condo requires a certificate of insurance. Can you provide it?

+

Yes. Send us the management company's certificate requirements when you book and we'll send the certificate to the building before the visit.

Can you work with my vacation-rental schedule?

+

Yes. We schedule around check-out and check-in times, can use a lockbox or door code, and send a photo report and invoice to you or your property manager the same day.

Were my appliances damaged by storm surge?

+

If an appliance sat in floodwater — especially salt water — don't run it until it's inspected. We'll check wiring, controls and motors, tell you what's safe to repair, and give you documentation for an insurance claim.

Do you charge extra for parking on the beach?

+

No. We handle parking. If your building has a paid garage only, we'll mention it when you book.

Do you cover Sand Key and Island Estates too?

+

Yes. Island Estates is where we're based, and Sand Key is just over the Clearwater Pass bridge. Both share the 33767 ZIP with the beach and get the same pricing and scheduling.

My appliance was replaced after Helene and it's already acting up. Can you help?

+

If it's still under the manufacturer's warranty, call the manufacturer first — we aren't a factory-authorized servicer, and a warranty repair costs you nothing. If the problem is the installation (water line, venting, leveling) or the warranty has run out, we can help.

Can you check my condo while I'm up north for the summer?

+

Yes. Arrange access with your building manager or a neighbor, and we'll run the fridge, ice maker, washer and dishwasher, look for leaks, and send you photos and notes.
