JennAir is the luxury kitchen brand of Whirlpool Corporation. The company started in Indianapolis in 1947 making ventilation fans and introduced the first self-ventilated downdraft range in 1961 — and downdraft ranges and cooktops are still what many people associate with the name. Maytag bought JennAir in 1982, and Whirlpool acquired Maytag in 2006.

We repair JennAir downdraft cooktops and ranges, pro-style gas and dual-fuel ranges, rangetops, wall ovens, built-in and column refrigerators and freezers, French-door refrigerators, dishwashers and undercounter wine units in Clearwater, Belleair, Clearwater Beach and Dunedin homes. Plenty of older JennAir downdraft ranges are still cooking in north Pinellas, alongside newer RISE and NOIR design pieces in remodeled kitchens.

Because JennAir sits inside the Whirlpool family, many parts and diagnostic procedures overlap with KitchenAid and Whirlpool, which helps with parts availability. Built-in refrigerators and wall ovens take more care to service in place — we protect cabinetry and flooring and don't pull built-ins out unless the repair requires it.

Common JennAir problems we fix

  • Downdraft not pulling smoke

Clogged grease filters, a failing blower motor, a blocked or poorly routed exhaust duct, or a switch problem. Clean filters first; a weak or noisy blower usually needs replacing.

  • Burners clicking or not lighting

Spark igniters, spark switches and modules on gas cooktops and ranges. Moisture and spills — and salt air near the water — cause most misfires.

  • Oven not heating or uneven

Bake and broil elements, convection elements and fans, gas oven igniters and temperature sensors. Uneven baking often traces to a failed convection fan.

  • Wall oven controls or door lock faults

Electronic controls, touch panels and door lock motors — self-clean heat is hard on locks. We confirm the faulty part before ordering an expensive control.

  • Built-in refrigerator not cooling

Condenser and evaporator fans, dirty condenser coils, defrost components and controls. Built-in condensers need regular cleaning, especially near the coast.

  • Ice maker problems

Ice-maker assemblies, water inlet valves, frozen fill tubes and dispenser parts on built-in and French-door models.

  • Dishwasher not draining or cleaning

JennAir dishwashers are built on Whirlpool-family platforms and use the same F#E# codes — F9E1 for a long drain, for example. Filters, drain pumps and wash motors are the usual repairs.

JennAir repair FAQ

Who makes JennAir?

+

JennAir is Whirlpool Corporation's luxury brand. It was part of Maytag from 1982 until Whirlpool acquired Maytag in 2006, and it shares many parts with KitchenAid and Whirlpool.

Do you repair old JennAir downdraft ranges?

+

Yes. Blower motors, igniters, elements and switches are the usual repairs. Some older models have discontinued parts — we'll check availability before quoting.

Why isn't my JennAir downdraft pulling smoke?

+

Most often clogged grease filters or a failing blower. Duct problems — too long a run, crushed duct or a stuck exterior damper — also weaken the draw. We check the whole path.

Is a JennAir worth repairing?

+

Usually yes. Built-in refrigerators, wall ovens and downdraft cooktops are expensive to replace and often require cabinet or countertop changes.

Are you a JennAir authorized servicer?

+

No. We repair JennAir out of warranty directly. If your JennAir is still under warranty, contact JennAir first so the repair is covered by their service network.

Can you get JennAir parts?

+

Many JennAir parts are shared with other Whirlpool-family brands and are readily available. Some specialty parts take a few days; we'll give you the timeline up front.
