Oven, Range & Cooktop Repair in Clearwater, FL

  • ✓ $79 diagnostic, credited to the repair
  • ✓ 45-day parts & labor warranty
  • ✓ Same-day & next-day visits
  • ✓ 6+ years repair experience

We repair gas and electric ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and induction ranges — from builder-grade stoves to Wolf, Viking, Thermador and GE Monogram.

Most oven failures come down to a handful of parts: bake and broil elements, gas igniters, temperature sensors and control boards. We carry the common ones and give you the price before starting.

Ovens are also one of the easier appliances to decide on. The parts that fail are relatively inexpensive, and a range or wall oven is often built into the cabinets, so a repair saves you more than just the price of a new unit. The $79 diagnostic is credited to the repair, and every job carries a 45-day parts and labor warranty.

Common oven & range problems we fix

  • Oven not heating or heating slowly

Electric: burned-out bake element or temperature sensor. Gas: a weak igniter is by far the most common cause — it glows but no longer pulls enough current to open the gas valve.

  • Bake works but broil doesn't (or the reverse)

Each element or burner has its own circuit. On electric ovens, a broil element with a visible blister or break has failed. On gas ovens, the broil burner usually has its own igniter. Either way it's one part, not a whole oven.

  • Temperature off or uneven baking

Faulty temperature sensor, convection fan or element, or an oven that needs calibrating. Most digital ovens let you offset the temperature by up to about 35°F in the settings menu, which fixes a slightly hot or cool oven for free.

  • Burner won't light or keeps clicking

Wet or dirty igniter, a cracked electrode or a failed spark module. Boil-overs are a common trigger. Clicking that won't stop even with the knob off usually means moisture in a switch or a failed spark switch.

  • Electric surface element not working

Failed element, a burned receptacle or a bad infinite switch. If the element glows full-red on every setting, the infinite switch is stuck.

  • Glass cooktop cracked or element stuck on

A crack in a radiant glass top means the top should be replaced before you use it again. An element that stays on or won't respond is usually a failed switch, relay or touch-control board.

  • Induction cooktop error or no heat

Induction only works with magnetic cookware, so test with a pan a magnet sticks to first. After that, the usual causes are a failed cooling fan, a power board damaged by a surge, or a burned generator board.

  • Display dead, error codes or self-clean stuck

Control boards and door-lock motors fail after power surges and self-clean cycles. Many self-clean failures are a stuck lock, not a dead oven. The extreme heat of self-clean can also blow a thermal fuse.

Surges and salt air

Summer lightning and storm power cuts are hard on electronic oven controls. On beach and waterfront homes, salt air corrodes igniters and burner caps faster — keep them dry and clean.

Repair or replace?

Elements, igniters and sensors are always worth replacing. A failed control board on a budget range over 12 years old is the main case where replacement makes more sense.

Our repair-or-replace guide →

Before you call

  • Make sure the oven isn't set to a delay-start or Sabbath mode
  • For gas, confirm other burners light (the gas supply is on)
  • Dry a burner that won't light after a spill and try again in an hour
  • Check the breaker — ranges use a double breaker
  • Look for a control lock or child lock symbol on the display
  • Turn the breaker off for five minutes to reset a frozen control or a stuck self-clean lock

45-day parts & labor warranty

Every repair carries a 45-day warranty on the parts we install and on our labor.

Oven & Range repair FAQ

Why is my gas oven not heating?

+

Usually a weak igniter. It can still glow orange but not draw enough current to open the gas valve, so the oven never lights. It's one of our most common and least expensive oven repairs.

How much does oven repair cost?

+

Most oven and range repairs run $150–$310 total, including the $79 diagnostic credit. Door lock motors run $220–$380 and control boards $300–$620. You get the exact price before we start.

Can you fix my oven today?

+

Usually same day or next day in Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Dunedin and Largo. Bake elements, igniters and sensors are common enough that most ovens are fixed on the first visit; brand-specific control boards may need to be ordered.

My oven won't unlock after self-clean. What do I do?

+

Let it cool completely — the lock won't release while the oven is hot. If it's still locked hours later, switch off the breaker for five minutes and try again. If it stays locked, the door-lock motor or switch has usually failed, and that's a straightforward repair.

Why does my stove burner keep clicking?

+

Moisture from a spill or mopping has usually gotten into the burner or a spark switch. Remove the cap, dry everything and wait a few hours. If it still clicks with every knob off, a spark switch or the spark module needs replacing.

How long does oven repair take?

+

Most oven and range repairs take under an hour. Elements and igniters are usually reached from inside the oven or from the back panel. Wall ovens sometimes need to be slid out of the cabinet, which adds time, and model-specific control boards may take 1–3 business days to arrive.

Should I use the self-clean cycle?

+

Use it sparingly. Self-clean runs the oven far hotter than any baking temperature, and that heat is hard on control boards, door locks and thermal fuses. Wiping spills while they're fresh and using the steam-clean option, if you have one, is gentler.

Do you repair high-end ranges like Wolf and Viking?

+

Yes. We service Wolf, Viking, Thermador, GE Monogram and other pro-style ranges. We aren't factory-authorized for any brand, so in-warranty work on these should go through the manufacturer's network first; out of warranty, we can usually help.

I smell gas. Should I call you?

+

Not first. Turn off the burners if it's safe, don't flip switches or light anything, leave the house and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the utility has cleared the leak, we can repair the range.
