We repair GE, GE Profile and Café appliances — refrigerators, ranges and wall ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, dryers and over-the-range microwaves. Out-of-warranty GE Monogram and Hotpoint service is available too. GE Appliances (owned by Haier since 2016) sells all of these brands, and they share a lot of engineering: a Café range and a GE Profile range often use the same controls and burners with different styling.

GE is everywhere in north Pinellas — Hotpoint and basic GE in rentals and older Largo homes, GE Profile in remodeled kitchens, and Café and Monogram in higher-end Clearwater Beach and Belleair homes. We see a lot of GE side-by-side and French-door refrigerators, electric and gas ranges with electronic oven controls, built-in dishwashers and over-the-range microwaves.

GE parts are widely available, and GE ranges and refrigerators are generally service-friendly. Oven controls and refrigerator boards are the most common GE repairs after a summer storm, since power surges and outages can damage them. Many GE problems display an F-code on the oven or a blinking pattern on the dishwasher, which helps us narrow things down before we even open the panel.

Common GE problems we fix

  • Refrigerator not cooling

Evaporator fan, condenser fan, defrost heater or thermostat, and main control board failures are the usual suspects. A frosted rear panel inside the freezer points to defrost.

  • Ice maker not working

GE's ice-maker module, water inlet valve or a frozen fill tube. The module is a common, quick replacement.

  • Range and wall oven F-codes

F2 means the oven ran too hot, F3/F4 point to an open or shorted oven temperature sensor, and F1 or F7 usually mean a control or keypad fault. Surge damage is common after storms.

  • Oven not heating or failed after self-clean

Bake and broil elements, gas igniters, and sometimes a thermal fuse or control that fails during the high heat of a self-clean cycle.

  • Dishwasher not draining or cleaning

Drain pump, filter, inlet valve and wash arms. Hard water scale makes cleaning complaints worse.

  • Over-the-range microwave not heating

High-voltage diode, capacitor, magnetron or door switches. We test the high-voltage circuit safely; door switch failures can also blow the fuse.

  • Washer and dryer problems

Drain pumps, lid locks and suspension on washers; heating elements, thermal fuses, belts and rollers on dryers.

GE repair FAQ

Do you repair GE Café and Profile?

+

Yes, including French-door refrigerators, ranges, wall ovens and dishwashers. Café and Profile share many parts with standard GE, so parts are usually easy to get.

Do you repair GE Monogram?

+

Yes, out of warranty. Monogram is GE's luxury line — built-in refrigerators, pro-style ranges, wall ovens. Some Monogram parts take a few days to arrive.

What does F3 mean on a GE oven?

+

F3 usually indicates an open oven temperature sensor circuit (F4 is a shorted one). It's often the sensor itself or its connector — a moderate repair.

Is a GE refrigerator worth repairing?

+

For fans, defrost parts, ice makers, valves and boards — yes in most cases. For sealed-system failures on older units, we'll give you a straight repair-or-replace recommendation.

Who makes GE appliances now?

+

GE Appliances has been owned by Haier since 2016 and is based in Louisville, Kentucky. The GE, GE Profile, Café, Monogram and Hotpoint brands continue, and parts for older GE appliances remain widely available.

How long does a GE repair take?

+

Most GE repairs are finished at the first visit or one return trip. Common GE parts are usually available within a day or two.
