Viking pro-style ranges and built-in refrigerators are common in waterfront Pinellas homes. We repair Viking out of warranty with the same flat-price approach as every other job. Viking is owned by Middleby, a commercial kitchen equipment maker, and its freestanding range lineup includes the 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series and the Italian-styled Tuscany line.
We see Viking gas and dual-fuel ranges, rangetops, wall ovens, built-in and column refrigerators and freezers, wine coolers and dishwashers in Clearwater Beach, Belleair and Island Estates homes. Many are older Viking Professional ranges that have been in the kitchen for 15 years or more; others are newer 5 Series ranges with VariSimmer burners and 7 Series ranges with high-output Elevation burners.
Viking ranges use sealed burners with spark ignition and either gas or electric convection ovens. Most problems — spark igniters, spark modules, oven glow-bar igniters, thermostats, gas valves and convection fans — are fixable. Built-in Viking refrigerators use the same basic cooling parts as other built-ins: fans, defrost components, sensors and a condenser that needs regular cleaning, especially near salt water. Some Viking parts take a few days to arrive; we tell you the timeline at the diagnostic visit.
Common Viking problems we fix
Burner igniters clicking or not sparking
Spark igniters and modules wear out, especially in salt air. Continuous clicking usually means moisture or a failing spark switch; no spark at all points to the module or wiring.
Gas oven not heating
A weak oven igniter (glow bar) is the most common cause. Gas valves, safety valves and thermostats are next on the list.
Oven temperature off or uneven
Thermostats, temperature sensors and convection fans. We check calibration with a meter, not just the dial.
Burner flame low or uneven
Clogged burner ports, misaligned caps or a valve problem. Cleaning sometimes fixes it; a sticking valve needs replacement.
Refrigerator not cooling
Condenser and evaporator fans, dirty condenser coils, defrost parts and controls. Coastal humidity makes condenser maintenance more important.
Refrigerator ice maker issues
Water inlet valves, frozen fill tubes and ice-maker assemblies.
Door and hinge problems
Worn gaskets, sagging doors and hinge wear on built-in refrigerators, which let warm air in and cause frost and sweating.
Manufacturer warranty
If your appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, the manufacturer may require its own certified service network for covered repairs. Out of warranty, we repair it directly — and we'll check your warranty status with you before any work.

Viking repair FAQ
Can you get Viking parts?
+
Yes, most Viking parts are available, though some take a few days to arrive. Parts for some discontinued older models can be harder to source — we'll check before quoting.
Is a Viking range worth repairing?
+
Almost always. Igniters, valves, thermostats and fans cost far less than replacing a pro-style range.
Why won't my Viking oven heat?
+
Most often a weak oven igniter on gas models, or a failed element or sensor on electric and dual-fuel models.
Why does my Viking cooktop keep clicking?
+
Moisture, residue or a failing spark switch or module. If drying and cleaning don't fix it, the part needs replacing.
Who makes Viking appliances?
+
Viking Range is owned by Middleby, a commercial kitchen equipment company. Viking is still based in Greenwood, Mississippi.
Are you a Viking authorized servicer?
+
No. We repair Viking appliances out of warranty directly. For covered warranty repairs, Viking may require its own service network.
