LG Range & Oven Error Codes: F1, F3, F9, F10, F11 & More
LG ranges and wall ovens show an F-code when the control detects a problem with a sensor, the keypad, the convection fan, heating or the door lock. On double-oven models, some faults have a second code for the lower oven — for example F9 and F19, or F10 and F20. Codes vary by model, so check your manual too.
Oven temperature sensor (thermistor) error — the sensor reads open or shorted.
F3
Touch-pad key error — a key reads as continuously pressed.
F7 / F17
Convection fan error — the fan isn't detected running.
F9 / F19
Oven not heating properly — temperature isn't rising as expected.
F10 / F20
Door lock failure — F10 for the upper or single oven, F20 for the lower oven.
F11
Communication error between the control boards.
F27
Cooling fan stalled or locked during self-clean.
PF
Power failure — power to the range was interrupted.
F1 / F2 — Oven temperature sensor (thermistor) error
Oven temperature sensor (thermistor) error — the sensor reads open or shorted.
Common causes
Failed oven sensor
Loose or damaged sensor wiring
Try this first

Moisture or grease under the panel
Control problem
Try this first

When to call: A failed convection fan motor is a common, moderate repair.
F9 / F19 — Oven not heating properly

Common causes
Failed bake element or gas igniter
Power supply problem
Sensor or control fault

✓Check the breaker (both halves for electric ranges) and reset it
When to call: Needs a technician to test the heating circuit.
F10 / F20 — Door lock failure

Loose wiring between boards
Failed control board
Try this first
✓Reset the breaker for 30 seconds
When to call: Needs a technician to check the connections and boards.
F27 — Cooling fan stalled or locked during self-clean
Cooling fan stalled or locked during self-clean.
Common causes
Failed cooling fan motor
Debris blocking the fan
Try this first
✓Let the oven cool and reset the breaker
When to call: The cooling fan protects the electronics — have it repaired before running self-clean again.
PF — Power failure
Power failure — power to the range was interrupted.
Common causes
Outage or brief power interruption
Try this first
✓Press Clear/Off and reset the clock; if it reappears, reset the breaker for 30 seconds
When to call: No service needed unless PF keeps appearing without an outage.
How to reset
Press Clear/Off first. If the code comes back, switch off the range's breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power. A code that keeps returning needs service.
